We’re here when life gets difficult
At Cefnogi, we exist to support people in our community when life takes an unexpected turn. Whether someone is struggling to afford food, feeling overwhelmed, or just doesn’t know where to turn, we offer practical help and a place to be heard.
What we do
We run a Foodbank and Help Centre, providing support to individuals and families facing challenging circumstances.
That might look like:
Providing emergency food and essentials
Sitting down for a conversation and listening without judgement
Offering guidance or signposting to other services
Creating a space where people feel welcomed, not rushed
If someone walks through our doors, they won’t just receive help - they’ll be treated with dignity and care.
Why it matters
More and more people are facing rising living costs, isolation, and unexpected crises. For many, it doesn’t take much - a lost job, an illness, a change in circumstances - for things to become overwhelming.
We see people at all stages of life, from families trying to make ends meet to individuals who simply need someone to talk to. Our role is to step in at that moment and offer support that makes a real difference.
Our approach
We believe that support should be personal, not transactional.
We don’t just hand out food parcels and send people on their way. We take time to listen, understand each situation, and respond in a way that respects the individual at a pace that set by the person in need.
Our aim is not only to meet immediate needs, but to help people feel supported, valued, and less alone, restoring dignity and control for that person’s life.
The difference it makes
Every conversation, every visit, and every act of support has an impact.
Behind every food parcel is a story - someone navigating a difficult season, finding a bit of stability, or taking the first step towards something better.
We’re proud to be part of a community that comes together to care for one another. Since opening in 2013, the Foodbank has fed nearly 32,500 people with more than 300 tonne of food. Our Help Centre has helped local people get access to over £970,000 worth of financial gains through either income maximisation or expenditure reduction. Not to mention countless non-financial means of support.Looking ahead
We’re continuing to grow our work to meet the needs around us in response to the voice of those we help
This includes developing our Help Centre, expanding our reach into rural communities, and working towards a dedicated space that allows us to support more people, more effectively. Check out the information on our new Building for an in-depth dive on this.
